A weft is a strip of hair joined along one seam. On a Genius Weft that seam is finished by hand. There is no bulky track and no thick machine seam, so there is nothing to press against the scalp.

The hair is raw, which means it has never been dyed or chemically treated, and each weft comes from a single donor. No acid bath, no silicone coating, no synthetic fibers. Because nothing has been done to it, a stylist can tone or lighten it if your match needs refining.

On the head, the difference is comfort, and the fit is individualized. Your stylist cuts each weft to the width your head calls for and the cut edge does not unravel, so the weft is sized to you rather than the other way around. Our East Islip salon has been installing extensions since 2011; if anything here is unclear, ask us before you order.

Shade & texture
  • Natural Virgin Black — the raw donor shade, never dyed. Reads as a deep natural black to off-black.
  • Soft Brown — naturally lighter brown donor hair, never dyed.

The texture is Straight. Wear it as it comes, or style it with heat and a heat protectant the way you would your own hair.

Exact tone varies slightly from donor to donor; that variation is what makes the hair read as your own rather than as a set.

Care
  • Wash with a sulfate-free shampoo and follow with a hydrating mask.
  • Wash in a downward direction, from the seam toward the ends.
  • Air-dry where possible.
  • Use a heat protectant every time you style with heat.
  • Braid or wrap the hair before bed.

Inside the Genius Weft
Why Bubbles & Angels

Inside the Genius Weft

The construction is the point. Here is what happens at the seam, in the hair and on the head over the months you wear it.

0.8 mm at the seam

The seam measures 0.8 mm thick and 1.7 mm tall, which makes this the flattest weft construction we offer.

Cuticle intact and aligned

Every strand keeps its cuticle intact, and all of them run in one direction.

Beads and thread install

A licensed stylist sews the weft in using beads and thread. Professional installation is required; this is not a set to put in at home.

Move-ups, not replacements

As your hair grows, the same weft is moved up and reinstalled rather than replaced, and it can be moved up multiple times. With proper care, expect 6–12 months of wear.
